Exports, IRANPHARMA EXPO’s Main Goal
Dr. Qolamreza Asqari, Chairman of the Iranian Food and Drug Administration
Holding IRANPHARMA EXPO 2018 while sanctions are shadowing the country’s economy
helps in demonstrating this industry’s capacity. Not only does the organization of an exhibition
like this provide the opportunity for exchanging experiences with those present at the event, an
industry like pharmaceuticals can share its potentials in a platform like this.
IRANPHARMA EXPO is a Symbol of Iran’s Capabilities
Dr. Akbar Borandegi, Deputy of Developing Management and Resources of the Iranian Food and
Drug Administration
Holding the 4th IRANPHARMA EXPO in the current situation where America has pulled out
of the nuclear deal and is singlehandedly cutting all ties in the international domain, can play
an important role in expanding national exports. But we must also heed the fact that exporting
pharmaceuticals will also be affected by the sanctions. But I believe that holding this exhibition is
a symbol of national potentials. It is true that during sanctions, the priority in the health ministry
and the IFDA is to provide for the domestic demands, but we must not forget how we can move
past these sanctions as we did before. Undoubtedly, following this period, we will see the flourishing of this industry.
IRANPHARMA EXPO, the Voice of Objection to Pharmaceutical Sanctions
Ahmad Masjed Jame’ei, Member of Tehran City Council
IRANPHARMA EXPO can be a cry of objection against the status quo. Objecting the fact that
why should our country face pharmaceutical sanctions? The participation of this number of
international companies can better reflect this objection. IRANPHARMA EXPO’s potential is in
the fact that it is not merely an exhibition, but an event that by adding the sections of media and
books, has gained more efficiency.
We will work towards expanding pharmaceutical industries
Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, 1st Deputy of Iran Islamic Consultative Assembly
Although medicine and pharmaceutical equipment are not mentioned in the list of the sanctions,
but are indirectly affected by it. Also, with the implementation of sanctions, maritime transportation
and banking relations will face problems; therefore, it will affect the providing of imported
pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical equipment. As a representative of other members of the
parliament, I would like to announce that we will do our best to prevent the pharmaceutical
industry from facing any more problems.
Iranian Pharmaceutical Industry Providing Cycle is Important in All Sectors
Joao Jose Corte Real, Portuguese Ambassador to Iran
The Iranian pharmaceutical industries have great potentials. Ever since I have become the
ambassador, we are witnessing the progressive activities of the Iranian Pharmaceutical Industries
Syndicate for expanding their activities beyond borders. Also, since the beginning of cooperation
between the Portuguese and Iranian pharmaceutical companies, the capability of the Iranian
pharmaceutical industry, and the syndicate’s insistence has gained more significance.
The other important point I came to know after visiting this exhibition and the booths, is the
Iranian industries’ full circle of production in all sectors, which is of great importance for foreign
investors.
